Bio~

Vancouver hip-hop unit Swollen Members are taking a bit of a timeout from promoting this year's Brand New Day, but that's not stopping the Prevail from hitting the road to plug his solo material. The West Coast rapper has revealed he's heading back to clubs this fall for a tour with some other West Coast brethren.

The newly revealed "The West Coast Renaissance Tour" will have Prevail in the marquee spot, but it will also feature sets from Sweatshop Union's Kyprios, rising Vancouver rapper Neph, BC rap group Indelible, J. Dohe and Stompdown Killaz's Prada West. The trip kicks off at Calgary's Night Owl venue on November 5 and saunter back into BC for a handful of dates, capping with a hometown concert at Vancouver's Fortune Sound Club on December 6.

While Prevail added tracks to the Swollen Members songbook earlier this year via the release of Brand New Day, the Vancity spitter has plans to put out some more solo work in the near future. According to management, Prevail's previously promised Born to Rayne EP is still on the way, but a new album titled Alpha Omega is also in the works. The latter is currently being worked on in the studio, and is expected to land next spring.

"I've been working in the studio on some new solo tracks, and the new material is insanely high energy," Prevail said in a statement. "With Madchild out on the road in support of his amazing new solo record and [Swollen Members DJ] Rob [the Viking] taking some time off to build a brand new studio and work on beats, now just felt like the perfect time to embark on a solo tour."
